My suggestion of the Fruchos shop didn’t go down well.
I've heard good things about Tin Shed
Been there a couple of times.
Pretty casual joint being a cafe but food is good.
Gotta go the fruchocs shop after though

Thanks, I’ll look it up.

Only for the FIL and his partner so I’m happy with Subway

I work 5 minutes from the Fruchoc factory so no need to go ;)

Da Vinci Resturante.

First of all it’s not a restaurant it’s a glorified cafe. Outside eating areas are superb and if anyone goes ask for a table at one of the two outdoor. Was extremely busy

Huge amount of choice on the menu, a whole menu of its own just for schnitzels.

Seven of us with a couple of entrees of mozzarella sticks, onion rings and garlic bread/ pizza.

Main meals, all huge servings

Lasagna-good 8/10
Mushroom burger 8/10
Gnocchi puttanesca, I had this and was very good. Plenty of anchovies, olives and chilli 9/10
American pork ribs 7.5/10. Only meal that wasn’t huge.
Fish and chips 3/10. Apparently could tell it was a frozen fish and was very hard/firm fish. Didn’t taste fresh
Mexican schnitzel 8/10. Was enormously, anyone going just get the half size. Would have fed nearly 3 people.

Food 8/10 except the fish. Everything that went past us looked and smelled fantastic
Service 3/10. Strongly recommended to order via a QR code and therefore only had one drink that took 40 minutes to come only after I asked where it was. That and food delivery were the only contact we had with staff as you also pay with the QR code. Cost them a fair amount in drinks as we like plenty
of drinks.

I’d certainly eat there again

I'm a minority, I don't really like Fruchocs, RM make some delicious choccy snakes though.

Staff were miserable cows, when I asked what was on tap to one of the wait staff at our table upon arrival I was told "Probably go and ask at the bar, yeah?"

$14 pints of Goodiesons that is about 200m down the road, $10 Coronas.

Pizza are woodfired 12" and range from $28-34 and aren't worth it. 2 slices of mine didn't actually have toppings on them.

My daughter in law is coeliac, upon the pizzas being delivered she had two gluten free burger buns placed in front of her with nothing on it. "Umm, what is this" - "You asked for gluten free bread in the email when we asked about any dietary requirements".

I won't go on with the events that ensued, other than :

Drinks 2/10
Food 2/10
Service 0/10
Venue left horribly underrated because of the service, the place is quite nice and family friendly. Actually, none of them were friendly. 5/10

Had lunch at a few pubs while in Adelaide over the Xmas/NewYear period.

Seaton- all meals were excellent. 20% off main course with the seniors card.
Birkenhead- as above. Packed with us oldies getting the discount.
Mansfield Park- Great steaks and salad bar maintained regularly. Garlic Prawns were superb. 20% off with card.
Alberton- Great pub food. Also some asian dishes. $35 a dozen for Kilpatrick Oysters.cheap as. 10% off mains with the card.
All pubs had great specials on certain days. Good quality pub food and recommend all places.

The 5/10 may have been Venue only and not overall.

But as the great Pauline said

But that would mean he didn't give an over all score? This is scandalous

So, this review popped up yesterday...

https://glamadelaide.com.au/popular-mcl ... -vineyard/

"If you haven’t discovered The Vine Shed, a family-owned venue and cellar door in McLaren Vale, you’re in for a treat."

"What makes The Vine Shed truly special is that it’s family-friendly."

“When it comes to our business, we are really passionate and we’re very welcoming. We are always wanting to do our best when it comes to our service,” Dianna Conte says. “We welcome everyone as if they are part of our family. They’re not just a number, they’re actually part of our family when they come to visit us.”
