Because Burnside Village is a nightmare compared to ColonnadesPseudo wrote:From https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-09-26/ ... /105820216 :
SA Police has announced Declared Public Precincts at eight shopping centres in metropolitan Adelaide, which will allow police to search people and remove them from the site.
...
The precincts, which came into power at noon on Friday, will apply at Marion Shopping Centre, Elizabeth City Centre, Arndale Shopping Centre, Burnside Village, Hollywood Plaza, West Lakes Shopping Centre, Parabanks Shopping Centre and Munno Para Shopping Centre.
And the WTF: How did Colonnades not make that list?

For mine the biggest WTF is the realisation that the cops couldn't already search people and remove them from sites.Pseudo wrote:From https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-09-26/ ... /105820216 :

Three notorious shopping centres, including one that was the site of a stunning brawl earlier this year, have finally been declared as part of SA Police’s knife crackdown, the latest step of which has seen shoppers subjected to metal detector wanding.
Colonnades, Tea Tree Plaza and the Rundle Mall area have been added to the list of now-11 “declared shopping precincts”.
At these precincts, police can use metal detector wands to search select shoppers and identify weapons that could pose a risk to public safety.
