Fair enough, i was only repeating what a highly-respected Haven bloke had told me. Basically, his view was that they got the coach sacked, then p!ssed off themselves anyway.
Im still interested as to what Super Steve has to say about it though... [/quote]
Without trying to have a dig whilst the club is down, i'll just say that alot has been said about the players after they left if you know what i mean. I can asure you that it wasnt just the players who thought it was a good idea. I think it was the right decision for wattsy to coach last year but unfortunately the whole playing group let him and the club down. Obviously we should of finsihed higher than 5th last year but lack of discipline and poor attitude prob cost us.

then why leave at such a crucial time for the club indirectly, those players have resulted in the downfall of North haven footy club!!

When the players made the decision to leave the club it was long before any of this had happened so obviosuly had no idea . If you read the post by same old you'll find that its alot more than players leaving the club that have put them in this postion.

Im well aware the club is in more trouble then just loosing a few players But with the loss of money and also players, had the players hung around maybe they might have got out of it but getting people to the club now with no financial incentives at such a late time I think they will struggle to field a competative side!!
Like I said earlier I hope they do make it through this though!

As SS said players departed the club for various reasons well before this all came to head. Also as mentioned before player numbers aren't critical but will most likely lose the C Grade. If the players that left had stayed it still wouldn't have resolved Administration issues, which I feel is the most important thing to get right.
Main problem is the lack of Past Player involvement in the club, they all loved the place but are now no where to be seen. We need them to put some time back in to the place.
G'day, I'm one of the few that are mentioned as shouldering the load, and just wanted to say that most of what has been said on here is wrong. Our thief took no where near tens of thousands, but there was a theft. Our bar discrepancies over the past 12 months would be better than any club also run by volunteers, its checked and reconciled weekly.
The cash haven reference and causing the current situation is also wrong, as are the amounts bandied around on here every year for player payments, we have previously paid an occasional player, but to suggest that we were trying to buy a premiership is utter BS. Our payments last year were substantially less than most A4 clubs.
We do have issues,
It all stems from only a few people actually doing anything around the place, we have had 2 new people join the committee and they are doing their best, but even that hardly scratches the surface.
We do have a debt, but it’s not insurmountable if we had people to do things, (it’s bloody hard to knock down a debt if there is 1 person organising any shows and she doesn’t know where to start and there is no one to help her!) Then of course the debt is a big problem, if we cant raise the money to pay it down.
I can tell you, when the other 2 guys were both away for a couple of weeks last year, there was not 1 single person to help, I begged guys to be the match day official, but they were “watching the game” I begged guys to lend a hand but they were “having a beer”.
The club is in trouble, in my opinion is due to some members who say they care but don’t walk the walk.
With regards to our coach, He’s the real deal! And I hope he steers us through. He’ll certainly get all the backing he needs. Champion Bloke who’s dead serious about footy
I suspect that the guys that have walked simply can’t take a strong disciplined approach Sooky sooky la la’s, if I’m right
I, like the rest of the committee guys I’ve had enough, and if we don’t get people come on board tonight, I too will be walking away to watch games and have beers. Pity it won’t be at the club I love!
If you do care get down there tonight and when we ask for help, put up your hand.

They didn't have a sensational crop of their own kids, a rather large chunk of them were from other clubs and unfortunately they have gone back or elsewhere again.
And what large chunk would that be?
Lipson, Wareing, Mich Hood, Tyson Devries and Daniel Price all there first year at the club playing U/18 and Seniors. All the rest of the U/18 squad had played U/16's or lower at the club.
Would hardly say 5 is a huge chunk
3 blokes I would not mind having back at Nth Pines this year.

Very True NHFC Insider and if the blokes who are thinking to leave the club have a good look at themself , give the Coach a go we can turn this place around. The players need to support the place as much as the Past players need to steer it out of this current problem.

In the early 1980's the Taperoo FC - the orginal club on the (now) North Haven site - experienced a similar story. The Treasurer (allegedy) siphoned off a bucket load of $$$, leaving the club in a position it could never recover from.
I can tell you the current committee are all good, it was the hired help that kicked us in the guts 12 months ago............
So, without being seen as a vulture hovering a carcass...........WTF is going to happen if NH cease to exist?
With the debacle in D2 / D3, we could have another one in D4. I assume Pulteney would be asked to stay up, and if they said no, Plympton would be asked if they wanted to go up.
Must be some midnight lights burning in The Barton
Popped past North Haven around 7pm tonight Had about 25-30 on the track and there looked to be a few people rocking up in cars for the meeting Hopefully all went well tonight

Thanks to those who have been supportive.
good to hear. I don't like to see any club fold- Fitzroy came close themselves many moons ago. The SAAFL needs the smaller clubs to survive- clubs like Ovingham etc
