The succession plan was signed 7 years ago, I'd expect the club are judging bucks on what's happening now not wether they made the right call last decade.
Been through 32 players in four games, 15 different blokes in defence. Let's see how the whole year pans out, it's pretty obvious he still has the attention and respect of the playing group.

Yep, they're really putting in for him I tipped Melbourne last weekend I'm thinking Essendon can probably beat them this week as well

Elliott has struggled with his back since mid last year. His form dropped off, understandably, late in the season. He's above average when right though so I hope he gets back soon. Sidey and Tooves back helps plenty.
Don't underestimate the effect the drug tests have had on the group. Trust is a must and some have broken that, but no one knows who they are. We can thank the drunk bloke on 360 for that.....wa#ker!
Forgot about Varcoe. Has he been our best recruit ever?
Better than Buckley?
He was always ours. We just loaned him to Brisbane.
Maybe if you "loaned" him a bit more to Brisbane he would've got a flag... or two... or three.

When was the last time the Pies won 2x in a row? They've won 3 of their last 15.. surely respect/attention/confidence in the coach would start to fall away by now.

Not since the first half of last year.
Haven't had a second half capitulation and statistically the intent is there. I'd be worried about respect if the players just rolled over in second halves.
I think there's a lack of leadership out there. We've a very young midfield and you've got Adams and Treloar who haven't emerged as leaders. That's a massive issue.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Excellent point. Pies were always going to feel it, facing life without Swan, but thats been thrust on them a bit sooner than they'd expected. Sidebottom missed a few and Pendles playing injured. Thats a big hit to top end talent, and a big hit to onfield leadership.
At this stage, who could you confidently predict or hope, to be the next wave of leadership to come through? Probably the likes of Treloar and Adams but again that's going to take time.
