Are you talking about the push on Sampi back in 2005?

Not sure I agree with that LK
The visual on GF Day showed the MCG to be shorter and fatter by around 10 - 20m each way

I thought when they made it they said they made a point to build it to the same size as the MCG?

Pretty boring, that was a highlight of the good old days of VFL and SANFL, the unique ovals, now there carbon copies of each other just about.

Pretty deceptive the ground sizes, I always thought Jiangwan appeared smaller and more narrow, and the MCG always looks so round on TV

This.. surely every fan would rather see umpiring like in finals and let the game just go every week instead of the free kick free for all we currently get.

Absolutely agree with this. Throughout the year we have had to put up with stupid 50m penalties because players had encroached the protected zone. Come the Grand Final, the umpires didn't pay any .... and they were never going to, even though there were many instances where it could have been paid. So, let's simply make the umpiring in the GF the standard for the rest of the year.

Id rather see them umpire like they do all year.
I just knew pressure would get to a forward umpire at some point, it just happened to be against us.

Matthews was right it would've been paid all year.
Pressure gets to the umps just like the players and a mistake from them was bound to happen.
I actually thought Sheed played on, similar to Grundy's.

Anyway we lost and apart from 4000 or so nuffies we've taken the loss pretty well.

Whoever names these grounds... couldn't they at least give SOME indication of where the oval is in the name? I have no idea where UTAS or TIO or GMHBA is.

Still can't read too much into it, the width is taken for the widest points, I think the arc of the pockets make a fair difference, to reach just outside 50 on a ground with deep pockets is a lot more travel from full back than it is with one with no pockets, if you catch my drift.

It is deceptively wider at the ground as well. The wing on the coaches box side was wider than what it seemed. It did feel quite long though from where I sat there
