Anyone had a moderna shot?
Just wondering what the reactions (besides being taken over by the government,bigger tits and better 5g) were like as I've had 2 Pfizer previously and have just booked moderna for a booster on Monday.

Daughters arm was a bit red, a small lump the size of a tennis ball on both shots. Lasted 72 hours...

Sons first one dropped him for 24 hours, nothing on the second.

I get your point about people thinking they're bulletproof, but the fact is the unvaccinated are far more likely to get hospitalized after catching Covid, so I don't think it's an unreasonable label.

Absolutely. But the bottom line is that (for the moment at least) you are far more likely to avoid hospitalization/death after catching the virus if you're vaccinated.

For mine three things aren't going away in terms of being encouraged* societal changes in behaviour compared to pre March 13, 2020.

Mask wearing - given this and other forms of respiratory viruses are transmitted by air-borne droplet this is arguably the most effective way of reducing the risk of transmission
Ongoing vaccination booster shots (to be integrated with the annual flu shot in time)
Checking in - probably the least likely to continued but with further outbreaks the first to be implemented

* By encouraged I mean not mandatory but for the betterment of all, these are strongly encouraged so we can live with this on an ongoing basis travel more freely than what we have in the last two year and so we can avoid over-loading the public health system and at the same time avoiding lockdowns.

Not sure exactly, but yes agree with everyone having had the opportunity to be vaccinated, measures like movement restrictions, capacity limits etc. need eventually to make way, particularly if the health system is able to cope in the absence of these measures.

I'd imagine that health authorities will continue to release highly detailed stats (as they did before the pandemic anyway), but yes infection numbers are no longer a very important part of the story and you'd hope the media don't sensationalise the routine and inevitable spread of the virus.

NSW seems instructive on the vacs.

33 people in the ICU, 26 of them unvaccinated. Given only 6.6% are unvaccinated, but they make up 78.8% of the cases in the ICU it would seem that you're 52 times more likely to end up in the ICU if you are unvaccinated.

SA Health Budget expenditure in 2019-20 was $6.3 Billion according to the annual report on tehir website. an Extra $100 million would do stuff all.
