Aidan Thatcher has to be the best defender in the league… if not very, very close.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
Huge round today. I feel like after this round we will be a lot closer to breaking the ladder into sections.
If Golden Grove can win the top 5 might be set....but i haven't tipped them. Port by 2 goals
Broadies (SHOC) and PAC (GFC) have huge mountains to climb today and if they want to play finals they will need to take a scalp
TTG play all teams around them for the rest of the year so like 2023 can make a late run. It needs to start today v SPOC. Will be a massive game.
PNU should sort Brighton out but this is season has showed anyone can win on their day. If the Falcons get the job done and GG win at home they will slip into 3rd with 4 rounds to play.
Tips
Port by 12
SHOC by 18
Rams by 46
Gullies by 10
Falcs by 22

With Broadie’s and Princess’s losing looks like it’s all set.wristwatcher wrote:Huge round today. I feel like after this round we will be a lot closer to breaking the ladder into sections.

GG beating Dizzies was interesting also but not unexpected.

Broadview led all day and went to sleep at 3/4 time and got over run
St Peters knocked off the Gullies at home and off the bottom
Payneham and Glenunga got the points

Yep you'd suggest top 5 is set. The battle for 3rd spot will be the real interest at that end of the table.locky801 wrote:well Golden Grove got the biscuits over Port in a great gamewristwatcher wrote:Huge round today. The bottom 5 now all at risk of relegation courtesy of a goal after the siren from SPOC.
What a season!
Being realistic. Glenunga now a short priced fave, 2 finals at Webb if they need them will see them make the GF its just a matter of who the oppo is. Any of the other 4 in the top 5 seems believable.
Next week Port v SHOC and Glenunga v Grove might just answer the aforementioned question

Hey Wristy. Since 2022 Prelim Finals have been played on neutral venues. That’s all grades including the Women’s grades.

Good spot DTH. 2021 even but that was more covid related. The Rams finished top in Div 2 and had to trek out to Glenelg to play SHOC in an "neutral": prelim but that was 1 v 4 as we lost some rounds late in the year.
They better win their first final then
When we talk about neutral venues in Div 1 though they are SANFL ovals like West, Always liked Richmond Oval.

Bit hard to tell on video. Didn't appear to be too much in it and none of the Broadview players remonstrated with Tappy.bubba love wrote:Tapp gone for the year after that late hit on Saturday in the shocs/broadies game

Season probably over but not sure it's the worst thing i've seen. Rough conduct moreso than striking, appears to hit the body then slips up - surprised it resulted in a broken jaw to be honest.wenchbarwer wrote:Just watched again in slow motion (100.35 mark)locky801 wrote:The player had surgery, jaw broken in 3 places, havent seen the incident so wont commentbubba love wrote:Tigers player with a broken jaw, 100 mins into the game if you want to look on DF

Kookas 2 games clear and percentage whilst finding form suggests the top 5 is set to me.Bluedemon wrote:The run home is going to have some interesting (4-point games)

The bottom 4 playing each other is huge.
If the Bombers cant beat SPOC at home they will be a game and a half behind 8th with 3 to play and we will have our first club firmly entrenched in the relegation zone and heading to Div 2 in 2025.
Likewise PAC need a win at home. Whist they have 5 wins there percentage is a huge concern and could be the discerning factor. They play 3 top 5 sides in the final 3 rounds.
Round 15 could be the one to decide a couple of teams fate barring huge upsets in the final rounds.
Could we see another Goodwood circa 2023 who spent all but the last 8 minutes in the relegation zone.
