if I read this correctly, he can legally get 20K per year, plus $650 a game. About 32K for the year, above board.
Would he get $1650 a game in the SANFL?

Can see big Scotty Lycett being invited onto Ned's boat just prior to the 2025 finals, then "accidentally" falling overboard...

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
The rules allow it subject to certain conditions.
17.6 Promotion of Football
The SANFL Community Football may grant a permit to a player of an Affiliated League Club to play football for a team of another Affiliated League Club if in its absolute discretion it determines that it is in the best interests of an Affiliated League and/or football generally.
The granting of such permit can only be made on the following conditions:
a) It must in the best interests of football generally and made for the promotion of football in a specific Affiliated League or Leagues;
b) It must for one game only;
c) A permit under this Regulation 17.6 must not be granted for a player to play football for the same Affiliated League Club more than once in any Season
Not sure how many Saturday's will be free for Charlie. His 'Drivin with Dixon' stuff that links up with weekend events at the Bend and elsewhere will presumably become more full-on now that he's retired from the AFL. I wouldn't be counting on the big banged up 34 year old playing much footy in 2025 and beyond.

So do the school fees for Tex’s 2 boys come out the salary cap?
The old colls teams really set themselves up with the points system and now this.

And that is why the salary cap is broken. It will always favour old scholars clubs.

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
There's no limit in what you can pay/remunerate a non-playing assistant coach is there?
In respect of school fees being paid, why wouldn't they be in the definition of a football payment if their from an entity related to a club and in exchange for playing football?
Put differently, if a sponsor/supporter from a District Club offered to pay a players kid's school fees in exchange for them playing that would be salary cap inclusive, hard to see why the theorised arrangement wouldn't be included?
Also, this would seem to be one of the more difficult salary cap dodges to conceal?

Not necessarily. The highest ranking old scholars team last season had a salary cap of $0. And no, the school gives them nothing besides an oval to train on. Build a good club culture and you will be surprised the players who wish to playscottroo wrote:And that is why the salary cap is broken. It will always favour old scholars clubs.

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
Old Scholars teams are all about connections.
If they connect you to a better job, or to the person in admin who can waive your kid's school fees, so be it. Just don't ask for match payments.
